Description
The Horse Dessert Bowl brings a lively scene from traditional Arita ware to the table. Its scalloped rim is edged in cobalt blue, and red-orange and green accents add bright color around the inside. Three blue horses appear to trot across the inner wall, among grassy ground lines, small plants, and curling clouds.
This bowl is sized for small servings such as fruit, chilled desserts, or a portion of tofu or simmered vegetables. The wide opening and shallow depth make plating easy, while the low footed base keeps the bowl steady. The glossy porcelain surface shows off the contrast between fine linework and bold color.
Whether used as a conversation piece or part of your daily tableware, the Horse Dessert Bowl brings a bit of fun to the table. Made by Fukuju Kiln, an Arita workshop founded in 1955, it suits anyone who enjoys traditional Japanese patterns with a lighthearted feel.

Arita Ware
Arita ware, Japan’s first porcelain, originated in the early 17th century in the town of Arita, Saga Prefecture. Using pure porcelain stone sourced from the mountains of Amakusa, artisans created brilliantly white ceramics that quickly became celebrated for their beauty and strength. During the Edo period, Arita grew into a major center of porcelain production, with its works exported to Europe through the port of Imari, where they captivated collectors and royal courts alike. Today, Arita ware continues to embody the harmony of artistry and function, bringing timeless elegance to modern dining around the world.Dessert Bowl
This small bowl is adaptable for any course. It's an ideal size to serve desserts and sweets. For the main meal, it can hold sunomono (vinegared salad), aemono (dressed dish), nimono (simmered dish), or chinmi (special delicacy). It makes a good individual dish for hot pot or when serving a small portion from a large platter. Small bowls in different shapes and colors add personality and variety to your tablescape.Shipping & Return
