Playful yet functional, the Pan Fried Egg Chopstick Rest brings a cheerful touch to your dining table. Crafted in Mino Ware, one of Japan’s most celebrated ceramic traditions, it is shaped like a miniature skillet with a hand-painted sunny-side-up egg at the center. The contrast of the matte black pan with the glossy white and golden glaze creates a look so realistic it feels as though it has just come off the stove.

Beyond its whimsical design, this chopstick rest is thoughtfully made for daily use. The skillet handle forms a natural groove where chopsticks rest securely, keeping your table tidy between bites. Its compact yet eye-catching presence makes it versatile for both casual meals and festive gatherings. Perfect as a playful accent in your collection or a thoughtful gift, this piece embodies the joy and creativity found in Japanese tableware while inviting a smile with every use.

Chopstick Rest

When setting the table for a Japanese meal, chopstick rests (hashioki) are a must-have item. These rests are essential for hygiene so the chopsticks don’t touch the table. They are also a wonderful way to add whimsy, charm, and a personal touch to your table setting. With so many themes and designs to choose, chopstick rests are quite popular to collect. It's fun to switch them up for different seasons, menus, and occasions.

Mino Ware

Mino ware refers to pottery traditionally made in Japan’s eastern Gifu Prefecture, primarily in Tajimi, Toki, Mizunami, and Kani. This ancient method of producing elegant, durable ceramics has roots going back over 1300 years to Japan’s Kofun period in the 7th century. Typically found nested into the mountainsides, the unique kilns used to produce Mino ware are often referred to as anagama kilns, and the master artisans producing these stunning products continue to adhere to rigid standards to produce only the highest quality ceramics.
