Playful yet refined, the Wine Cork Chopstick Rest is a delightful creation that highlights both creativity and Japanese craftsmanship. Inspired by the familiar look of a wine cork, it is shaped from natural clay and finished with a detailed glaze that captures the soft surface and subtle markings of the original object. The result is a whimsical piece that feels both lighthearted and sophisticated, making it an instant conversation starter at the dining table.

While charming in design, this rest is also highly functional. It serves perfectly as a chopstick holder, but can just as easily cradle forks, spoons, or small utensils with ease. Its versatile form blends seamlessly into everyday meals, yet adds a playful spark to festive gatherings or when entertaining guests.

Ideal as a gift for wine lovers, design enthusiasts, or anyone who appreciates handcrafted Japanese tableware, this chopstick rest brings warmth, humor, and artistry to the simple act of dining.

Chopstick Rest

When setting the table for a Japanese meal, chopstick rests (hashioki) are a must-have item. These rests are essential for hygiene so the chopsticks don’t touch the table. They are also a wonderful way to add whimsy, charm, and a personal touch to your table setting. With so many themes and designs to choose, chopstick rests are quite popular to collect. It's fun to switch them up for different seasons, menus, and occasions.

Mino Ware

Mino ware refers to pottery traditionally made in Japan’s eastern Gifu Prefecture, primarily in Tajimi, Toki, Mizunami, and Kani. This ancient method of producing elegant, durable ceramics has roots going back over 1300 years to Japan’s Kofun period in the 7th century. Typically found nested into the mountainsides, the unique kilns used to produce Mino ware are often referred to as anagama kilns, and the master artisans producing these stunning products continue to adhere to rigid standards to produce only the highest quality ceramics.
