Warm and understated, the Tapered Edge Hinoki Coaster brings the gentle beauty of natural Japanese cypress to your daily routine. Made from sustainably sourced hinoki grown in Shikoku, each square coaster carries a light, soothing fragrance and a distinctive grain pattern that feels calm and inviting. The softly recessed center holds cups securely in place, while the tapered edges make it easy to lift with a simple touch.

Finished with a protective urethane coating, the coaster balances practicality with the organic charm of real wood. Its clean, versatile design fits comfortably into both Japanese and Western-style table settings, adding a quiet note of warmth beneath your favorite teacup, coffee mug, or glass.

Whether enjoyed during a peaceful morning tea or used when welcoming guests, the Tapered Edge Hinoki Coaster brings a small moment of comfort and natural elegance to your everyday rituals. A thoughtful, beautifully made accent for any home.

Tosaryu

Founded in 1970 in Kochi, Tosaryu creates wooden kitchenware and household tools from Shimanto Hinoki, a cypress nurtured by the clear waters of the Shimanto River. Using thinned wood and offcuts, each piece is air-dried slowly for several months to preserve its natural fragrance and smooth texture. Inspired by a deep respect for nature, Tosaryu’s creations bring calm and warmth to daily life, offering tools that age gracefully and connect people to the gentle beauty of wood.

FAQ

Can I add a gift message to my order?

Yes. You may add a personalized gift message of up to 250 characters at checkout — it is printed on a card and included inside the package. Prices and order details are never shown on the card or anywhere in the shipment, so the recipient sees only your message and the gift itself.

Will my order be wrapped as a gift?

Yes. Every JOC Goods order is wrapped in a traditional Japanese furoshiki cloth before shipping at no extra charge — both gifts and personal orders. If your order includes many or large items, the furoshiki may be packed inside the box rather than wrapped around them. Prices are never included in any shipment.
