The Striped Daruma Doll Chopstick Rest brings both charm and tradition to the dining table. The Daruma, a figure rooted in Zen Buddhism, is cherished in Japan as a symbol of perseverance and good fortune. With its round form and steady gaze, it represents the spirit of rising again after setbacks, making it a popular gift of encouragement and hope.

This miniature rest carries that same spirit while serving a practical role in daily dining. The surface is finished in bright red, the traditional color of Daruma dolls, accented with bold gold stripes that give it a festive glow. Small yet full of character, it keeps chopsticks neatly in place while adding a playful note to the table.

Perfect for auspicious occasions such as New Year or simply for brightening everyday meals, this piece is more than a utensil holder. It offers a touch of good luck and a reminder of resilience in every meal.

Chopstick Rest

When setting the table for a Japanese meal, chopstick rests (hashioki) are a must-have item. These rests are essential for hygiene so the chopsticks don’t touch the table. They are also a wonderful way to add whimsy, charm, and a personal touch to your table setting. With so many themes and designs to choose, chopstick rests are quite popular to collect. It's fun to switch them up for different seasons, menus, and occasions.

Mino Ware

Mino ware refers to pottery traditionally made in Japan’s eastern Gifu Prefecture, primarily in Tajimi, Toki, Mizunami, and Kani. This ancient method of producing elegant, durable ceramics has roots going back over 1300 years to Japan’s Kofun period in the 7th century. Typically found nested into the mountainsides, the unique kilns used to produce Mino ware are often referred to as anagama kilns, and the master artisans producing these stunning products continue to adhere to rigid standards to produce only the highest quality ceramics.
