Naturally resistant to moisture and insects, paulownia has been used for generations in Japan to store rice and grains, helping preserve their flavor and texture in all seasons.

Choose from two finishes:

  • Natural Finish – Showcases the soft, silvery grain of untreated paulownia for a simple, organic look.
  • Kakishibu Finish – Treated with persimmon tannin (柿渋), a traditional Japanese coating that adds extra protection and a warm, amber hue.

    Both the lid and measuring cup feature embedded magnets, allowing the cup to be placed on top of the lid or conveniently stored inside by attaching it to the underside. The included wooden measuring box holds 1 rice-cooker cup (about 180 ml), the same capacity as the standard cup that comes with most rice cookers.
