Hizen Yoshida Ware

Hizen Yoshida ware originates from the historic Hizen region spanning Saga and Nagasaki Prefectures. Its roots trace back to 1598, when porcelain making began in the Yoshida area of Ureshino under the patronage of the Nabeshima clan. Using fine local clay and porcelain stone, artisans refined their skills alongside Arita ware while developing a simple, graceful style of their own. Today, local kilns continue to produce porcelain that blends timeless craftsmanship with designs suited to modern living.

Condiment Bowl

These small bowls come in many shapes and serve different purposes. They are generally suitable for condiments, dry seasonings like salt, garnishes, toppings, soy sauce for sashimi, pickles, small delicacies, and butter and jam. Deeper small dishes shaped like a cup are suitable for noodle dipping sauce. Tiny bowls are a popular size to collect thanks to their visual interest, compact size, and usefulness.
