The Blue Willow Dessert Bowl captures the rustic charm of Mino ware, featuring a spiraling indigo pattern on a soft white background. The design, often referred to as the “flying plane” motif, radiates from the center in rhythmic strokes, creating a sense of movement that draws the eye inward. On the outside, a slate-blue glaze with natural variation softens the surface and adds depth, giving each bowl its own quiet character.
Durable yet refined, this versatile bowl is well suited for everyday dining. Its compact size makes it perfect for serving fruits, desserts, or small portions of salads, while it also works beautifully for side dishes and individual servings from larger plates. The tactile quality of the glaze and the contrast of indigo and white make even simple foods appear more vibrant.
The Blue Willow Dessert Bowl blends practicality with traditional artistry, bringing warmth and a touch of folk-inspired beauty to daily meals. It is a piece that connects function and aesthetics, enriching both casual and thoughtful table settings.

Mino ware refers to pottery traditionally made in Japan’s eastern Gifu Prefecture, primarily in Tajimi, Toki, Mizunami, and Kani. This ancient method of producing elegant, durable ceramics has roots going back over 1300 years to Japan’s Kofun period in the 7th century. Typically found nested into the mountainsides, the unique kilns used to produce Mino ware are often referred to as anagama kilns, and the master artisans producing these stunning products continue to adhere to rigid standards to produce only the highest quality ceramics. We offer a flat rate of USD $25 for shipping to the U.S., and Free Shipping on orders over USD $199.
