This Blue Spiral Mount Fuji Sauce Dish blends elegance with playful artistry in a compact, versatile form. Crafted from Arita ware porcelain, it features a spiraling pattern of hand-painted indigo panels, each adorned with a different traditional motif. From soft florals to geometric patterns, the design draws your eye inward toward a subtle, stylized reference to Mount Fuji at the center.

The gently scalloped rim and raised edge add both visual interest and function, making this dish ideal for serving dipping sauces, pickled vegetables, or small side bites. Its compact size is also perfect for presenting a seasonal wagashi or a piece of fruit.

Whether placed alongside contemporary tableware or more classic pieces, this small dish brings a quiet sense of harmony to the dining table. Rich in detail and tradition yet easy to use in daily meals, it’s a thoughtful addition to any collection of Japanese tableware.

Sauce Dish

Tiny plates are useful in a number of ways. They're handy dishes for holding condiments, dry seasonings like salt and pepper, soy sauce for sashimi, small delicacies, or pickles. Mini plates are also quite popular to collect thanks to their compact size, variety of designs, and visual impact on the dining table.

Arita Ware

Arita porcelain originates from an area known as Arita on the Island of Kyushu, Japan. It is known as the birthplace of fine Japanese porcelain, and the artisans of Arita have produced exceptional ceramic works for more than 400 years. The beautiful contrast between the porcelain and the hand-painting is obtained by using exceptionally high-quality porcelain stone, allowing the glazed surface to display a distinct glossy mirror with a rich ivory luster.
