More Details

Fukuju Kiln

Founded in 1955 in Arita, Saga Prefecture, Fukuju Kiln creates tableware that blends traditional craftsmanship with modern design. Known for its gentle blue underglaze achieved with isubai-yu, an ash glaze once used in Edo-period Imari ware, the kiln’s pieces feature a soft texture and serene color. Guided by a sense of harmony between tradition and contemporary life, Fukuju Kiln continues to craft tableware that brings comfort and beauty to everyday moments.

Arita Ware

Arita ware, Japan’s first porcelain, originated in the early 17th century in the town of Arita, Saga Prefecture. Using pure porcelain stone sourced from the mountains of Amakusa, artisans created brilliantly white ceramics that quickly became celebrated for their beauty and strength. During the Edo period, Arita grew into a major center of porcelain production, with its works exported to Europe through the port of Imari, where they captivated collectors and royal courts alike. Today, Arita ware continues to embody the harmony of artistry and function, bringing timeless elegance to modern dining around the world.

Dessert Bowl

This small bowl is adaptable for any course. It's an ideal size to serve desserts and sweets. For the main meal, it can hold sunomono (vinegared salad), aemono (dressed dish), nimono (simmered dish), or chinmi (special delicacy). It makes a good individual dish for hot pot or when serving a small portion from a large platter. Small bowls in different shapes and colors add personality and variety to your tablescape.
