Description

The Black Lacquered Oryoki Bowl reflects both tradition and quiet refinement. Carved from Japanese zelkova wood, each piece reveals subtle wood grain beneath layers of hand-applied lacquer, creating a deep, lustrous finish. Designed as a complete set of six nesting bowls, they stack neatly inside one another, a detail that balances beauty with practicality.

Oryoki, meaning “just the right amount,” originated in Zen Buddhist practice, where monks used these bowls in mindful meals. Today, their timeless form carries the same spirit of simplicity and intention, while adapting beautifully to modern dining.

Durable yet graceful, the Black Lacquered Oryoki Bowl is ideal for serving rice, soup, or small dishes. Whether used individually or as a nested set, it enriches the table with a sense of history, artistry, and harmony.
