Description
The Red Serenity Matcha Bowl embodies the quiet beauty of Raku Ware, a tradition deeply tied to the Japanese tea ceremony. Its earthy red glaze flows naturally across the surface, while dark, smoky accents appear in organic patterns. The unglazed clay foot adds a rustic presence, grounding the piece in the connection between earth and fire.
Raku Ware was developed under the guidance of Sen no Rikyū in the sixteenth century to express the spirit of tea, valuing simplicity, authenticity, and the beauty of imperfection. This philosophy is evident in the bowl’s free-form shape, which avoids strict symmetry to create a form that feels humble and alive.
Each Red Serenity Matcha Bowl is shaped and fired in a way that ensures no two are alike. Subtle variations in glaze and form give every piece its own voice, offering a unique companion for the tea ritual and a reminder of the fleeting nature of each shared moment.

Raku Ware
Raku ware began in Kyoto over 400 years ago when tea master Sen no Rikyu asked the potter Chojiro to create bowls made especially for the tea ceremony. Shaped by hand and fired at low temperature, each bowl has a soft, organic form that reflects the spirit of wabi-sabi. After Rikyufs passing, Toyotomi Hideyoshi bestowed the name gRaku,h and the tradition has been cherished ever since. With its quiet presence and subtle imperfections, it deepens the sense of harmony and mindfulness central to Japanese tea culture.Matcha Bowl
