The Red and White Plum Chopsticks Set is a graceful celebration of tradition and beauty. Each pair features hand-painted plum blossom branches, symbols of perseverance, good fortune, and renewal, set against rich red and soft ivory backgrounds. The design flows across both chopsticks, creating a sense of harmony when placed side by side.
Presented in a beautifully illustrated paulownia wood box, the set makes a thoughtful gift for weddings, anniversaries, or seasonal occasions. The lid is decorated with red and white plum blossoms, echoing the motif of the chopsticks and adding unity between box and contents.
These chopsticks are crafted by skilled artisans in the Wakasa region, an area known for centuries of lacquerware production. Each pair is finished with a durable, dishwasher-safe coating that blends traditional techniques with everyday practicality. A meaningful way to bring seasonal charm and Japanese artistry to your table, this set offers both elegance and ease for daily use.

Wakasa Lacquerware
As Japan’s foremost lacquerware region specializing in chopsticks, Wakasa lacquerware has been crafted for over 400 years in Fukui Prefecture. Developed in the coastal city of Obama, this tradition grew from daily life rather than formality, focusing on creating chopsticks that are durable, comfortable to hold, and beautifully finished for long-term use. Today, Wakasa remains Japan’s largest production center for lacquered chopsticks, carrying forward a legacy of craftsmanship that balances practicality, beauty, and lasting quality for the modern table.
Chopsticks
Chopsticks are the quintessential utensil for any Japanese meal. They are personal as well, since many Japanese use their own individual set of chopsticks at home during mealtime. It's easy to customize the size, material, decoration, and finishes to suit individual tastes and needs. Choices like natural wood, hand-carved, hand-painted, and lacquered make chopsticks highly collectible and a great gift.
