Description

Keep your knives performing at their best with the Japanese Knife Maintenance Kit with Whetstones & Strop, designed to preserve razor-sharp edges for years of precise cutting. This complete set is perfect for both professional chefs and home cooks who value the art of Japanese blade care.

The kit includes two medium-grit whetstones for everyday sharpening, a leather strop to refine and polish the edge, and a polishing compound for the leather strop.

Please note: wood and leather colors may vary, but this will not affect performance.

With regular care using this kit, your Japanese knives will stay sharper, cut cleaner, and last longer, allowing you to fully enjoy the craftsmanship and performance of your blades. After sharpening, it's extremly important to wash your knife thoroughly with neutral detergent before use.

FAQ

Which Japanese knife should I buy first as a beginner?

For most beginners, start with a santoku or an 8-inch gyuto (chef's knife) — both are versatile, all-purpose blades that handle vegetables, fish, and meat well. Add a petty (utility) knife next for smaller tasks. Email support@jocgoods.com if you would like a personalized recommendation based on your cooking style and hand size.

Can I add a gift message to my order?

Yes. You may add a personalized gift message of up to 250 characters at checkout — it is printed on a card and included inside the package. Prices and order details are never shown on the card or anywhere in the shipment, so the recipient sees only your message and the gift itself.

Will my order be wrapped as a gift?

Yes. Every JOC Goods order is wrapped in a traditional Japanese furoshiki cloth before shipping at no extra charge — both gifts and personal orders. If your order includes many or large items, the furoshiki may be packed inside the box rather than wrapped around them. Prices are never included in any shipment.
