Description
The Sakura Faceted Rice Bowl brings the beauty of cherry blossoms to the table in a clean, refined design. Its gently faceted surface catches the light, adding subtle interest to the crisp white porcelain, while the softly angled sides create a comfortable shape to hold. The clean, simple shape complements the delicate floral decoration.
Hand-painted sakura blossoms in soft pink and green flow across the exterior, adding a gentle touch of color to the smooth porcelain surface. The cherry blossom motif is closely associated with spring and the beauty of nature in Japan, giving the bowl a distinctly Japanese character.
Perfect for rice, side dishes, or small servings of vegetables and salads, the Sakura Faceted Rice Bowl suits both everyday meals and special occasions. Its floral pattern and faceted form add a graceful touch to the table while pairing easily with other Japanese tableware.

Arita Ware
Arita ware, Japan’s first porcelain, originated in the early 17th century in the town of Arita, Saga Prefecture. Using pure porcelain stone sourced from the mountains of Amakusa, artisans created brilliantly white ceramics that quickly became celebrated for their beauty and strength. During the Edo period, Arita grew into a major center of porcelain production, with its works exported to Europe through the port of Imari, where they captivated collectors and royal courts alike. Today, Arita ware continues to embody the harmony of artistry and function, bringing timeless elegance to modern dining around the world.Rice Bowl
The rice bowl, called ochawan (お茶碗) or simply chawan, is the most personal element among Japanese tableware. In Japan, each family member typically has their own personal rice bowl that they choose based on preference for portion size, material, and design. They may change bowls to match the season or occasion, too. For a bowl that holds a standard one-cup (150 g, 5.3 oz) serving of Japanese steamed rice, choose one that's 4.7 inches (12 cm) across and 2.4 inches (6 cm) high. For a smaller serving size (130 g, 4.6 oz), we recommend a bowl that's about 4.5 inches (11.4 cm) across and 2.3 inches (5.7 cm) high.Shipping & Return
