Description
Rectangular with softly rounded corners, the Chrysanthemum Leaves Sauce Dish is decorated in indigo blue with mujinagiku, a traditional Japanese pattern of layered chrysanthemum petals. The petals are drawn in fine dotted lines and radiate from the center across the entire surface, out to a thin brown rim.
Made of Mino ware porcelain, this Japanese sauce dish is sized for soy sauce, small sides, or condiments. Mino ware has been produced in Gifu Prefecture for more than 1,300 years, and the area remains Japan's largest producer of tableware. The shallow, flat shape works well as a soy sauce plate for sushi and sashimi, and the compact rectangle fits neatly beside a rice bowl or on a serving tray. The indigo-on-white pattern suits both Japanese and Western table settings and coordinates easily with other indigo or plain white Japanese dishware.

Mino Ware
Mino ware is a traditional pottery from Gifu Prefecture with a history of more than 1,300 years. Its origins trace back to the Nara period, when early potters began producing simple earthenware. During the Momoyama period (late 16th century), Mino became Japan’s leading center for ceramics, giving rise to distinctive styles such as Shino, Oribe, and Kizeto—each deeply connected to the aesthetics of the Japanese tea ceremony. Today, as Japan’s largest pottery-producing region, Mino continues to evolve with contemporary life, blending timeless craftsmanship with modern design to support the way people eat and live every day.Sauce Dish
Tiny plates are useful in a number of ways. They're handy dishes for holding condiments, dry seasonings like salt and pepper, soy sauce for sashimi, small delicacies, or pickles. Mini plates are also quite popular to collect thanks to their compact size, variety of designs, and visual impact on the dining table.Shipping & Return
