The Blue Striped Ramen Bowl brings timeless elegance to the table with fine indigo lines flowing across a pure white surface. Inspired by traditional sometsuke, or blue-and-white ceramics, the design is simple at first glance yet reveals depth in the delicate brushwork and the subtle rhythm of vertical stripes. A thin rim in contrasting color adds a refined accent, balancing restraint with quiet sophistication.

The bowl’s flared shape makes it easy to hold and to scoop from, while its size is well suited for ramen, udon, or donburi. It also serves beautifully for rice dishes or generous portions of salad, adapting effortlessly to both Japanese and Western meals. Lightweight yet sturdy, it retains heat well and feels comfortable in daily use.

Whether set out for a quick weeknight dinner or a more festive occasion, the Blue Striped Ramen Bowl carries both tradition and versatility. It transforms simple meals into moments of calm and beauty, enriching the dining experience.

Ramen Bowl

This type of large bowl is ideal for serving noodle soup dishes like Japanese ramen, udon, and soba. Called ramen bachi (ラーメン鉢), they come in a variety of shapes and styles like fan-shaped, trumpet-shaped, high-footed, wide-mouthed, or multipurpose. Flatter and wider bowls typically hold more soup, noodles, and toppings. A ramen bowl also works for other types of dishes like pho, pasta, and entreé salads.

Mino Ware

Mino ware refers to pottery traditionally made in Japan’s eastern Gifu Prefecture, primarily in Tajimi, Toki, Mizunami, and Kani. This ancient method of producing elegant, durable ceramics has roots going back over 1300 years to Japan’s Kofun period in the 7th century. Typically found nested into the mountainsides, the unique kilns used to produce Mino ware are often referred to as anagama kilns, and the master artisans producing these stunning products continue to adhere to rigid standards to produce only the highest quality ceramics.
