Hizen Yoshida ware originates from the historic Hizen region spanning Saga and Nagasaki Prefectures. Its roots trace back to 1598, when porcelain making began in the Yoshida area of Ureshino under the patronage of the Nabeshima clan. Using fine local clay and porcelain stone, artisans refined their skills alongside Arita ware while developing a simple, graceful style of their own.
