Description

Like the gentle trace of waves left on still water, the Bubble Dinner Plate by Yamahei Kiln reflects the quiet movement of the sea in porcelain form. The soft layers of glaze create airy, bubble-like patterns that seem to drift across the surface, each one slightly different and full of natural rhythm. The smooth, lustrous finish glows subtly under light, bringing a tranquil presence to the table.

Crafted in Arita ware, this plate combines artistry and practicality. Its wide surface and raised rim frame each dish beautifully, from pasta and grilled fish to vibrant salads and desserts. The flowing design enhances presentation while evoking the calm spirit of the ocean.

Modern yet rooted in tradition, the Bubble Series pairs effortlessly with other tableware. Whether in ocean blue or soft gray, this piece turns a simple meal into a serene dining experience that celebrates the beauty of nature’s quiet patterns.

Founded in 1972 in Arita, Saga Prefecture, Yamahei Kiln blends tradition and innovation to create porcelain that inspires and delights. Originating from the production of tableware for restaurants, the kiln continues to refine its craft through original techniques and thoughtful design. Among its signature works, the Bubble series features a unique glaze that reflects light like the surface of the sea. Each piece expresses Yamahei’s belief that tableware can bring beauty, joy, and wonder to everyday life.

Arita Ware

Arita ware, Japan’s first porcelain, originated in the early 17th century in the town of Arita, Saga Prefecture. Using pure porcelain stone sourced from the mountains of Amakusa, artisans created brilliantly white ceramics that quickly became celebrated for their beauty and strength. During the Edo period, Arita grew into a major center of porcelain production, with its works exported to Europe through the port of Imari, where they captivated collectors and royal courts alike. Today, Arita ware continues to embody the harmony of artistry and function, bringing timeless elegance to modern dining around the world.

Dinner Plate

Dinner plates are multifunctional for both Japanese and Western-style meals. Serve an individual composed meal this large plate or a one-plate dish like pasta and Japanese curry. You can also use it as a platter for four servings or for plating ingredients for hot pot.
