More Details
Arita Ware
Arita ware, Japan’s first porcelain, originated in the early 17th century in the town of Arita, Saga Prefecture. Using pure porcelain stone sourced from the mountains of Amakusa, artisans created brilliantly white ceramics that quickly became celebrated for their beauty and strength. During the Edo period, Arita grew into a major center of porcelain production, with its works exported to Europe through the port of Imari, where they captivated collectors and royal courts alike. Today, Arita ware continues to embody the harmony of artistry and function, bringing timeless elegance to modern dining around the world.
Salad Plate
Medium plates are ideal for individual salads, appetizers, side dishes, and breakfast toast, or to serve individual portions from a family-style platter. This is also the perfect size plate for the main dish in the traditional Japanese washoku meal called ichiju sansai.
