Description

Slow down with Japanese Matcha Pressed Incense, a modern incense style designed to be gently warmed so the aroma blooms softly. Made with real matcha, it creates a calm, tea-room atmosphere that feels subtle and comforting for evenings, meditation, or a quiet reset at home. Choose from three designs: Flower, Tea, or Pine.

To use, place 2–3 pieces on a gently warmed plate and let the matcha scent rise naturally. Each piece can release aroma for about 20–30 minutes at the right temperature, and after the scent fades, the shape remains, so you can return it to the card as a small object of beauty or reuse it as an aroma stone with a drop of essential oil. Made with matcha and tabu powder as a natural binder.

Japanese Incense

The Japanese incense culture was introduced from India and China along with Buddhism around the 6th century. Initially, incense was used in temples for religious ceremonies. However, during the Heian period (794–1185), nobles began creating "takimono," blends of aromatic materials, to scent their rooms and clothing. This marked a shift from religious to secular use, integrating incense into daily life. In the Edo period (1603–1868), incense stick manufacturing techniques were introduced from China, leading to widespread use among the general populace. Today, incense is cherished for relaxation and enhancing living spaces, reflecting Japan's unique aesthetic and lifestyle.

FAQ

Can I add a gift message to my order?

Yes. You may add a personalized gift message of up to 250 characters at checkout — it is printed on a card and included inside the package. Prices and order details are never shown on the card or anywhere in the shipment, so the recipient sees only your message and the gift itself.

Will my order be wrapped as a gift?

Yes. Every JOC Goods order is wrapped in a traditional Japanese furoshiki cloth before shipping at no extra charge — both gifts and personal orders. If your order includes many or large items, the furoshiki may be packed inside the box rather than wrapped around them. Prices are never included in any shipment.
