This dessert plate by Seizan Kiln takes is formed in a kikuwari or chrysanthemum flower shape and glazed in elegant celadon green-blue. A skilled artisan hand-painted the flower's center with indigo pigment in the traditional Japanese ocean waves (seigaiha) pattern, which conveys the meaning of "may your life continue to be as peaceful as a gentle wave." Use this small porcelain plate to serve desserts, Japanese traditional sweets, small side dishes, and appetizers.
