The Ceramic Ginger Grater Dish is a compact and effective kitchen tool for grating fresh ginger, garlic, or wasabi with ease. Made in Japan, this dish features fine ceramic teeth that break down fibrous roots into a smooth paste while collecting the juices in the shallow basin for easy use in cooking.
The raised grating surface is gentle on your hands and doesn’t rust like metal graters, while the sturdy ceramic base keeps the dish steady as you work. Its small, dish-like shape also makes it easy to serve directly from grater to table.
Available in three elegant glaze colors—classic white, modern black, and deep indigo blue—this grater adds both beauty and utility to your prep routine. Whether you’re preparing traditional Japanese dishes or adding fresh zest to any cuisine, the Ceramic Ginger Grater Dish is a kitchen essential.

More Details
Banko Ware
Originating in Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture, Banko ware dates back to the mid-Edo period, when merchant and tea enthusiast Nunami Rozan began producing tea utensils in the region. Designated as a National Traditional Craft of Japan in 1979, it is known for its heat resistance and durability, making it ideal for donabe and teapots. Made from semi-porcelain clay rich in minerals, each piece withstands direct heat while retaining warmth efficiently. Balancing strength, practicality, and simple elegance, it remains an essential part of daily life in Japan.
Grater
Graters are essential kitchen tools to process ginger, wasabi, daikon, and mountain yam for Japanese condiments and recipes. Japanese hand graters are typically made from copper, aluminum, wood with sharkskin, stainless steel, or ceramic. They have sharp grating edges to help breakdown tough fibers, especially those in ginger and wasabi. These grating edges are either small or large to produce a coarse or fine texture for Japanese recipes.
