Description

Sweet and calming, the Storybook Japan Chopstick Rest brings a tiny piece of Japan’s spring landscape to your table. A hand-drawn red-roofed home sits beside pastel trees, with cherry blossoms in bloom and the gentle silhouette of Mt. Fuji rising in the distance. The illustration feels like a quiet moment from a countryside stroll, adding warmth and a touch of poetry to every meal.

Its long, slim shape holds your chopsticks neatly in place, keeping the tips lifted cleanly off the table. The smooth porcelain surface makes it easy to set down your chopsticks between bites, and the whimsical artwork adds a soft hint of color to your setting without overwhelming the scene. Light in hand and easy to use, it fits naturally into both everyday meals and special gatherings.

Whether paired with other Storybook pieces or given as a thoughtful gift, this chopstick rest brings a small moment of joy to the table. A charming detail that makes even simple meals feel a little more delightful.

Arita Ware

Arita ware, Japanfs first porcelain, originated in the early 17th century in the town of Arita, Saga Prefecture. Using pure porcelain stone sourced from the mountains of Amakusa, artisans created brilliantly white ceramics that quickly became celebrated for their beauty and strength. During the Edo period, Arita grew into a major center of porcelain production, with its works exported to Europe through the port of Imari, where they captivated collectors and royal courts alike. Today, Arita ware continues to embody the harmony of artistry and function, bringing timeless elegance to modern dining around the world.

Chopstick Rest

When setting the table for a Japanese meal, chopstick rests (hashioki) are a must-have item. These rests are essential for hygiene so the chopsticks don’t touch the table. They are also a wonderful way to add whimsy, charm, and a personal touch to your table setting. With so many themes and designs to choose, chopstick rests are quite popular to collect. It's fun to switch them up for different seasons, menus, and occasions.
