The Moonlit Arare Dessert Bowl & Saucer Set is made of pale amber glass covered in raised dots. This pattern is known in Japan as arare, meaning hailstones. Light passes through the dots and casts soft reflections that shift with every angle, much like moonlight over still water. The warm, antique-inspired tint gives the set a nostalgic look that suits both traditional and contemporary table settings.

The bowl is ideal for seasonal fruit, chilled desserts, or Japanese sweets, while the saucer also works well as a plate for appetizers or confections.

It is made by Hirota Glass, a Tokyo glassmaker founded in 1899, in the tradition of Japanese pressed glass. The Moonlit Arare Dessert Bowl & Saucer Set suits everyday treats as well as special occasions, and it makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who enjoys vintage-style glassware.

FAQ

Can I add a gift message to my order?

Yes. You may add a personalized gift message of up to 250 characters at checkout — it is printed on a card and included inside the package. Prices and order details are never shown on the card or anywhere in the shipment, so the recipient sees only your message and the gift itself.

Will my order be wrapped as a gift?

Yes. Every JOC Goods order is wrapped in a traditional Japanese furoshiki cloth before shipping at no extra charge — both gifts and personal orders. If your order includes many or large items, the furoshiki may be packed inside the box rather than wrapped around them. Prices are never included in any shipment.
