The Secret to Perfect Miso Soup
When I first tried this miso muddler 7 years ago, I was instantly smitten! This small but ingenious tool has been my kitchen staple for making homemade miso soup ever since.
Let me share why I love this so much:

1. Measures two sizes

This smart design measures the exact amount of miso paste—no guessing needed! The small end holds 1 tablespoon for one bowl, and the large end holds 2 tablespoons for two bowls.
For my family of four, I use two large scoops. Just dip the bulb into the miso and twist—it’s that easy! It keeps my miso tub neat and tidy so I can use every last bit.
2. Swirl to dissolve miso

Once the paste is in the bulb, swirl it in the broth over a ladle to dissolve smoothly and without lumps. Before I had this muddler, I needed both a spoon and a strainer. Now I just use this one simple tool—simple to use, quick to wash, and so much easier to clean up.
3. Use as a whisk

This muddle isn’t just for miso soup. I also use it as a whisk to beat eggs and mix salad dressings.
It’s so handy that I keep it in my countertop utensil holder, always within reach. I truly can’t recommend it enough, and I hope it becomes one of your favorite kitchen tools, too!
