Arita Ware

Arita ware, Japanfs first porcelain, originated in the early 17th century in the town of Arita, Saga Prefecture. Using pure porcelain stone sourced from the mountains of Amakusa, artisans created brilliantly white ceramics that quickly became celebrated for their beauty and strength. During the Edo period, Arita grew into a major center of porcelain production, with its works exported to Europe through the port of Imari, where they captivated collectors and royal courts alike. Today, Arita ware continues to embody the harmony of artistry and function, bringing timeless elegance to modern dining around the world.

Condiment Bowl

These small bowls come in many shapes and serve different purposes. They are generally suitable for condiments, dry seasonings like salt, garnishes, toppings, soy sauce for sashimi, pickles, small delicacies, and butter and jam. Deeper small dishes shaped like a cup are suitable for noodle dipping sauce. Tiny bowls are a popular size to collect thanks to their visual interest, compact size, and usefulness.
