The Circular Arabesque Condiment Bowl features a traditional karakusa pattern in soft indigo, with vines and leaves arranged in delicate loops across a smooth white surface. The intricate design is both classic and expressive, evoking a quiet sense of rhythm rooted in Japanese tradition.

Crafted in Japan’s Mino region, this tube-shaped porcelain bowl is ideal for serving dipping sauces for soba or udon, as well as small sides or chilled desserts. Its compact, gently flared form fits comfortably in the hand, while the raised rim helps prevent spills. The sturdy porcelain body makes it perfect for everyday use, whether you’re preparing a casual meal or setting a thoughtfully arranged table.

A small but versatile piece, it brings balance, function, and a sense of calm to your daily tableware.

Condiment Bowl

These small bowls come in many shapes and serve different purposes. They are generally suitable for condiments, dry seasonings like salt, garnishes, toppings, soy sauce for sashimi, pickles, small delicacies, and butter and jam. Deeper small dishes shaped like a cup are suitable for noodle dipping sauce. Tiny bowls are a popular size to collect thanks to their visual interest, compact size, and usefulness.

Mino Ware

Mino ware refers to pottery traditionally made in Japan’s eastern Gifu Prefecture, primarily in Tajimi, Toki, Mizunami, and Kani. This ancient method of producing elegant, durable ceramics has roots going back over 1300 years to Japan’s Kofun period in the 7th century. Typically found nested into the mountainsides, the unique kilns used to produce Mino ware are often referred to as anagama kilns, and the master artisans producing these stunning products continue to adhere to rigid standards to produce only the highest quality ceramics.
