Elevate your festive table with the Sea Bream Chopstick Rest, shaped like a whole tai (red sea bream), a cherished symbol of good luck and celebration in Japan. Long associated with prosperity and happiness, the sea bream is often served at festive banquets and milestones, and this miniature rest brings that same spirit of joy to the dining table.

Each piece is carefully detailed, from the lifelike curves of the fish to the hand-painted grill marks that make it look perfectly roasted. The glossy finish adds depth and realism, making it as decorative as it is practical. Beyond holding chopsticks neatly in place, it serves as a whimsical conversation piece that connects dining with tradition.

Ideal for New Year’s gatherings, weddings, and other celebrations, the Sea Bream Chopstick Rest combines symbolism, artistry, and function. Whether enjoyed as part of your own collection or chosen as a thoughtful gift, it adds a playful yet meaningful accent to any meal.

Chopstick Rest

When setting the table for a Japanese meal, chopstick rests (hashioki) are a must-have item. These rests are essential for hygiene so the chopsticks don’t touch the table. They are also a wonderful way to add whimsy, charm, and a personal touch to your table setting. With so many themes and designs to choose, chopstick rests are quite popular to collect. It's fun to switch them up for different seasons, menus, and occasions.

Mino Ware

Mino ware refers to pottery traditionally made in Japan’s eastern Gifu Prefecture, primarily in Tajimi, Toki, Mizunami, and Kani. This ancient method of producing elegant, durable ceramics has roots going back over 1300 years to Japan’s Kofun period in the 7th century. Typically found nested into the mountainsides, the unique kilns used to produce Mino ware are often referred to as anagama kilns, and the master artisans producing these stunning products continue to adhere to rigid standards to produce only the highest quality ceramics.
