Thoughtfully designed for modern kitchens, the Expandable Hinoki & Cherry Wood Trivet blends simplicity, flexibility, and Japanese craftsmanship in a compact and functional form. Made from natural hinoki (Japanese cypress) and cherry wood, the trivet expands and contracts to fit a range of pot and pan sizes, making it a versatile heat protection solution for any surface.

The natural wood materials provide excellent insulation while adding warmth and texture to your kitchen or table. Hinoki's gentle fragrance adds a subtle sensory pleasure, while the beautiful grain of both woods gives each trivet a distinctive, handcrafted appearance. Compact and easy to store when not in use, it is both a practical tool and a refined everyday object.

Trivet

Japanese trivets are typically made of wood, straw, metals, or textiles to protect tabletops with style and durability. They allow hot cookware or bakeware to go straight from the stove or oven onto the dining table for serving. Artisan trivets are handcrafted to bring warmth, character, and individuality to the tablescape.

Tosaryu

Founded in 1970 in Kochi, Tosaryu creates wooden kitchenware and household tools from Shimanto Hinoki, a cypress nurtured by the clear waters of the Shimanto River. Using thinned wood and offcuts, each piece is air-dried slowly for several months to preserve its natural fragrance and smooth texture. Inspired by a deep respect for nature, Tosaryu’s creations bring calm and warmth to daily life, offering tools that age gracefully and connect people to the gentle beauty of wood.

FAQ

Can I add a gift message to my order?

Yes. You may add a personalized gift message of up to 250 characters at checkout — it is printed on a card and included inside the package. Prices and order details are never shown on the card or anywhere in the shipment, so the recipient sees only your message and the gift itself.

Will my order be wrapped as a gift?

Yes. Every JOC Goods order is wrapped in a traditional Japanese furoshiki cloth before shipping at no extra charge — both gifts and personal orders. If your order includes many or large items, the furoshiki may be packed inside the box rather than wrapped around them. Prices are never included in any shipment.
