Chawanmushi Bowl

The unique steaming bowl called mushi wan (蒸し碗) is the size and shape of a tea cup and comes with a matching lid. It's used to make the popular Japanese dish chawanmushi, or Japanese steamed savory custard. This delicate appetizer is typically eaten with a small wooden or lacquered spoon.
