Description

The Modern Indigo Tile Dessert Plate combines contemporary style with the timeless appeal of indigo porcelain. Its bold geometric tile pattern creates a dynamic three-dimensional effect, giving the glossy surface both depth and visual rhythm. The deep indigo background contrasts beautifully with the clean white lines, making this plate a striking accent for any table setting.

With its rectangular form and gently sloped edges, the plate offers both practicality and elegance. It is perfectly sized for desserts, chocolates, and fruit, while also well-suited for small appetizers or as a refined base for other dishes. The modern pattern allows food to stand out with clarity, making it versatile for both Japanese and Western cuisine.

Part of the Modern Indigo Series, the Indigo Tile motif pairs seamlessly with coordinating sauce dishes, rice bowls, cups, and larger plates. Whether used alone or as part of a set, it enriches the dining experience with a balance of simplicity, artistry, and modern sophistication.

More Details

Shoei Kiln

Founded in 1969 in the Hizen region, Shoei Kiln began as a maker of ceramic clay and later expanded into full pottery production. In Hasami, where work is usually divided among specialists, the kiln stands out for completing every stage in-house, from preparing raw clay to firing. This integrated process ensures consistency and quality in every piece. Balancing tradition with innovation, Shoei Kiln creates tableware that brings color, comfort, and reliability to everyday life.

Hasami ware

The lineage of Hasami ware porcelain dates back over 400 years, and modern artisans still use many of the same time-honored methods to create their stunning pieces. Hasami ware, originating from the town of Hasami, shares close ties to porcelain from the Arita region of Japan, but each style produces its own unique pieces.

Dessert Plate

Smaller plates can add wonderful visual interest to your table setting. This size is useful anytime of day to serve appetizers, cold tofu, side dishes, a slice of cake, snacks, and wagashi (Japanese confectioneries). Have fun collecting different colors and shapes to spice up your table.
