Description
The Iris Arabesque Sauce Dish is decorated in rich indigo with a stylized iris design. Long, curving iris leaves sweep out from the center in four groups, a small iris flower blooms in the middle, and a border of overlapping arcs runs around the rim. Soft variations in the blue make the leaves look as if they are moving in a breeze.
Sized for soy sauce, dipping sauces, or small side items, this compact Japanese sauce dish is Mino ware porcelain with a flat center that makes it an easy sauce plate. It was designed as a condiment dish for soba, with room for wasabi, sliced green onions, or grated daikon served alongside the noodles. A low, straight wall and a thin brown rim frame the decoration inside.
Whether paired with other indigo-toned Japanese dishware or used on its own, the dish works for everyday meals and more formal table settings alike. A condiment bowl in the same Iris Arabesque pattern is also available.

Mino Ware
Mino ware is a traditional pottery from Gifu Prefecture with a history of more than 1,300 years. Its origins trace back to the Nara period, when early potters began producing simple earthenware. During the Momoyama period (late 16th century), Mino became Japan’s leading center for ceramics, giving rise to distinctive styles such as Shino, Oribe, and Kizeto—each deeply connected to the aesthetics of the Japanese tea ceremony. Today, as Japan’s largest pottery-producing region, Mino continues to evolve with contemporary life, blending timeless craftsmanship with modern design to support the way people eat and live every day.Sauce Dish
Tiny plates are useful in a number of ways. They're handy dishes for holding condiments, dry seasonings like salt and pepper, soy sauce for sashimi, small delicacies, or pickles. Mini plates are also quite popular to collect thanks to their compact size, variety of designs, and visual impact on the dining table.Shipping & Return
