This donabe hot pot features a hand-painted, sky-blue floral motif, making it a fabulous centerpiece for your gatherings. A donabe pot is a classic way of preparing everything from hot pots and rice to miso stews and curry—while bringing a rural Japanese warmth to your home. This robust pot is engineered to work on an induction cooktop, direct-flame burners, and radiant heat stoves, making it a versatile asset for modern kitchens. Thanks to a unique glazing method, the donabe heats slowly but retains the internal temperature for extended periods. The handcrafting process of molding, firing, and glazing results in a jet-black pot with a rustic yet elegant look. Its stunning gloss-finished lid showcases the sky-blue floral motif, creating a sophisticated contrast. Crafted by skilled artisans in the Arita region, this pot is a product of centuries of expertise. Please note: this donabe is not suitable for oven use.

Donabe pots require seasoning before their first use. Please refer to the care guide for detailed instructions to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Arita Ware

Arita porcelain originates from an area known as Arita on the Island of Kyushu, Japan. It is known as the birthplace of fine Japanese porcelain, and the artisans of Arita have produced exceptional ceramic works for more than 400 years. The beautiful contrast between the porcelain and the hand-painting is obtained by using exceptionally high-quality porcelain stone, allowing the glazed surface to display a distinct glossy mirror with a rich ivory luster.
